U2 has performed 2 times in Blue Lagoon. Those performances included unique songs and an overall total of 10 songs.
Blue Lagoon is located in Sligo, Ireland
Opened by Peter Henry in 1961, the Blue Lagoon, one of the most renowned entertainment venues in the West of Ireland, was formerly known as the Lough Gill Bar, when shortly afterwards Peter introduced music to the lounge. At first, it was just a pianist and a guitar player but as demand for this type of entertainment increased, the ‘gigs’ at the Blue became more exciting. According to an interview in the Sligo Chronicle, Peter stated ‘Perhaps the most famous band ever to appear at the Blue Lagoon was U2’. They played the Sligo venue on three occasions with their last gig at the Blue Lagoon being May 18th, 1980, when their fee was £200 and the ticket price was £1.50p. Other acts who have graced the Blue stage over the years include Christy Moore, The Boomtown Rats, Bagatelle, Colm Wilkinson, Brush Shiels, the Dubliners, Maura O’Connell, Paul Brady, De Dannan and Mary Coughlan.
