U2 360 Tour Rumors

U2, Coldplay and Beyoncé are rumoured to be headlining the Glastonbury Festival's Pyramid Stage this year, according to a leading UK gossip site.

Radio and TV stations in eastern Canada are all abuzz today with rumors that U2/Live Nation is about to announce a new U2 360 concert in Moncton, New Brunswick. The show would reportedly take place on July 30th at the Magnetic Hill concert site, and some rumors say the show could be announced as soon as next week.

Will La Plata get a third show this spring? If a current magazine ad is correct, the answer is yes.

In an article from Romania Business Insider, U2 is rumored to be the first potential concert for the country's new Lia Manoliu stadium.

More rumors about an impending announcement of U2 360 concerts in South America. U2 Brazil reports that at least one concert in Sao Paolo, Brazil, may be announced as soon as next week. They cite sources saying an announcement could come on November 29/30, with U2.com presales beginning on December 1st and public ticket sales on December 7th. Additional shows are expected in Sao Paolo and Porto Alegre, although nothing has been confirmed yet.

Rolling Stone Brazil is reporting that U2 will bring the U2 360 tour there in April, 2011. No specific dates are mentioned, but the article says U2 is expected to play two shows in Sao Paolo and Porto Alegre.

There are several indications that two more U2 360 concerts will be announced on Monday: St. Louis and Baltimore. In St. Louis, Live Nation has already sent out a news release saying that a "major concert announcement" will happen on Monday:

"Live Nation and the St. Louis Cardinals will host a press conference to announce the largest concert stage and tour production in history coming live to Busch Stadium next summer."

The St. Louis show has been rumored for July 17, 2011, which fits an opening in the St. Louis Cardinals baseball schedule.

Baltimore, meanwhile, we accidentally posted on U2.com weeks ago with a June 22, 2011, date. There are radio reports and other rumblings in Baltimore that they've decided on using M&T Bank Stadium for that show, home of the NFL's Baltimore Ravens, and that public ticket sales will begin in the next week -- that would require an announcement very soon if it's true.

As U2 continues to announce more U2 360 concerts in 2011, it looks like Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, will be one of the next cities to be officially added to the tour itinerary. A concert on May 29, 2011, at the Canad Inns Stadium is listed in a press packet that was released moments ago as part of the announcement of new shows in South Africa.

The press package PDF can be downloaded from the web site of Big Concerts, the local promoter handling the South Africa shows. As you can see, it says tickets will go on sale on October 25; that's a week from now, so look for this show to be announced in the next couple days.

This slip is similar to the accidental posting on U2.com of a Baltimore concert a couple weeks ago; that show has yet to be announced, but we suspect it will be (along with others) at the same time as the Winnipeg show.
