U2 Concert Review: Providence, RIDate: October 31, 2001
This was my first show in 10 years and after missing the first leg through Boston I wanted to make sure that I caught them on the way back. I was real excited because I knew of the venue and I was disappointed with the last U2 show that I saw because it was in a stadium and I felt that it was not the real setting for this type of band and led me to miss the last couple of album tours because of the venue.. I got great seats through an auction and I was happy with the view ( band level on Adam's side) and the show began and they went through the first songs like clockwork and I was real happy to hear Out of Control because this brought back memories of my first U2 show in 1983. I felt that Bono was struggling with his voice and it was getting better but then I turned to my wife and I said that there was something missing but I didn't know what it was.....then Bono leapt from the stage and climbed the stands to talk to the little girl and that was it......every show that I can remember there was a point that touched me and said that these guys were all right.
